Two separate seniors are in need of handrails and grab bars installed in their home. Each should take 2 people a half day. Both homeowners have materials on site. Need appropriate tools to install.

This local senior needs one small facia board replaced. RiverLife has materials and tools needed for this small repair project.
RiverLife Yard Mowing Team serves throughout the mowing season to help maintain lawns for our neighbors who are seniors or who are physically impaired. These are great projects to serve as an individual or family. Some projects listed below need additional cleanup with extra equipment.
Newnan senior off Roscoe Road. Equipment needed: 2 push mowers or 1 rider, weed-eater, hedge trimmers, loppers.
Newnan senior neighbors in the Habitat Development off of East Broad Street need mowing. Equipment needed: 1 or 2 push mowers and a weed-eater.
Veteran off of Jackson St. needs front and back yard mowing. Equipment needed: mower, weed-eater, hedge trimmers, loppers. Heavy duty trimmer or bush hog needed for the back yard due to kudzu.
Senior off of Sprayberry Rd. needs front and back yard mowing. Equipment needed: mower, weed-eater, hedge trimmers, loppers.
This couple near CJ Smith Park is unable to care for their small yard due to disabilities. Equipment needed: push mower, weed-eater.
Senior in Sharpsburg needs front and back yard mowing. Equipment needed: mower (rider is best), weed-eater, hedge trimmers, loppers.
Fall clean up for a single mom. Equipment needed: 2 push mowers or 1 rider, weed-eater, hedge trimmers, loppers. If possible, pole saw for low branches.
Clearing overgrowth, weeding and placing gravel. Equipment needed: hedge trimmers, loppers. If possible, pole saw for low branches and tarps.
These individuals and families need help with specialty projects that are outside of our typical scope of volunteer work. Some require specific trade work like plumbing or electrical work. If you are able to assist, please contact us and we will connect you with the homeowner(s) in need.
Grantville
This project is for a senior who cares for her senior adult sister with special needs. Her well-house is in disrepair and it needs full tear-down and rebuild. RiverLife can purchase materials; it would likely take a team of 2-4 people 1 day (6 hours) to complete.
Newnan
Two separate local residents are in need of wheelchair LIFTS installed in their home. Both homes are not conducive to building traditional ramps. These lifts cost between $8,000-20,000 typically. We are listing these needs for awareness and for the possibility of connections to companies who may be able to assist these residents.

As areas continue to recover from the 2023 January and March tornadoes, there are multiple volunteer opportunities for construction/rebuilding to help these residents get back into their homes.
Telfair County, GA
Recovery continues from Hurricane Helene. After our mission trip down in October, several individuals have taken day trips on Saturdays to help remove debris. Another opportunity for a multi-day trip will be available in January. Watch our calendar for details.
