RiverLife is offering four summer internship positions June 5 through August 3, 2019. The positions are part-time (an average of 20-30 hours a week).

While this internship is not paid, the skills and experience you will gain is immeasurable. We will go above and beyond to ensure a meaningful and rewarding experience that fits your life and career goals. This summer, you will learn valuable social networking strategies, project management and how to recruit and utilize volunteers. You will also learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with community leaders and other professionals in the nonprofit field.

Internship Positions


Skills Learned:

  • How to create a long term social media plan and marketing calendar.
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared by influencers.
  • Relationship building with our online community through newsletters and maintaining social media accounts.
  • How to track social media analytics and report results and new ideas to our team.

Project and Volunteer Management

Skills Learned:

  • Gain an understanding of the clients we serve and grow in compassion for those in need.
  • Foster a spirit of compassion and vocalize the needs of our clients within the community.
  • How to organize a volunteer team and utilize their gifts for the work needed.
  • How to create a strategic plan for one-day projects and our week-long camps.
  • How to network and work with group leaders to coordinate events.
  • How to complete forms and documents necessary for participants and local government for mission projects and appropriate permissions.
  • How to ensure the safety of participants through guidelines and rules designated by RiverLife, Inc.
  • Track all volunteer information and maintain database.

Client Care

Skills Learned:

  • Gain an understanding of factors that contribute to needs we address and coordinate with community resources to provide practical solutions for client care.
  • Foster a spirit of compassion and vocalize the needs of our clients within the community.
  • Client intake and manage care before, during and after services are received.
  • Maintain database and track progress of services.


Skills Learned:

  • Build upon our existing individual fundraising program and learn to diversify revenue streams for sustainability.
  • Gain an understanding of donor management software and maintain data.
  • Write fundraising collateral, from brochures to email appeals to thank you notes.
  • Assist with donor events.

What We Require of Our Interns:

  • A love of Jesus and a love for people.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Prefer experience in Excel.
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Creative and Flexible.
  • Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train.
  • Interest in nonprofit management and community development.
  • Comply with RiverLife standards as set forth in our By-Laws.
